Dr Danielle Holmes is a Research Fellow in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications within the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW Sydney.

Following completion of her PhD, Dr Holmes joined UNSW as a postdoctoral researcher, where she has been developing methods for the deterministic implantation of single donor ions in silicon, enabling the precise fabrication of quantum bits (qubits) for scalable quantum computing architectures.

During her PhD, Dr Holmes investigated donor activation and isotopic enrichment of silicon via ion implantation for quantum computing applications. Her work was recognised with the award for Best PhD Completion Talk in the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne.

Dr Holmes holds an MSci and BA in Physical Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and is the author of Wonders of the Quantum World, to be published on 11 August.
