Luca completed his bachelors and masters degrees in physics at ETH Zürich in Switzerland. During his masters, he worked in a couple of experimental quantum physics groups. This is where his interest in quantum computing sparked. He particularly enjoys the observability of quantum physics in the lab, exploring possibilities in a hands-on way.

As an Australian Research Council (ARC) Training Centre, FLiQC stood out to Luca for its strong focus on meaningful research combined with valuable industry collaboration. Having moved internationally, Luca is settling in well and says so far, he is really enjoying “working on a project from the ground up, from simulations and fabrication through to device measurement”.
