About Luca

Luca completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics at ETH Zürich, Switzerland. During his Master’s studies, he worked with several experimental quantum physics research groups, where his interest in quantum computing first took shape. He was particularly drawn to the opportunity to observe quantum phenomena directly in the laboratory and explore new possibilities through hands-on experimentation.

“Working on a project from the ground up, from simulations and fabrication through to device measurement”.

Current Research Journey

Having relocated internationally to join FLiQC, Luca is settling into life in Australia and beginning his PhD research. His project focuses on developing next-generation superconducting amplifiers and resonators to improve qubit readout technologies for quantum computing applications.

So far, Luca has particularly enjoyed the opportunity to work on a project from the ground up, taking part in every stage of the research process, from simulations and device fabrication through to measurement and characterisation. This end-to-end experience is providing a strong foundation for his future career in quantum technology research and development.
