About Devansh

Devansh completed a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela in India before pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University in the United States, where he specialised in quantum computing.

What first drew Devansh to quantum computing was its ability to transform the fascinating principles of quantum mechanics, such as superposition and entanglement, into an entirely new approach to computation. He is excited that researchers are still learning how to make these fragile quantum systems reliable, naturally leading him to quantum error correction.

Devansh was particularly drawn to FLiQC because it offers the opportunity to tackle challenges that bridge academic research and industry needs, helping translate cutting-edge discoveries into real-world impact.

“I find this particularly exciting because it allows research to have a more direct pathway to real-world impact, while still maintaining the depth and rigour of academic research.”

Although he is only at the beginning of his PhD journey, Devansh says his favourite aspect so far has been collaborating with his lab members and supervisors.

“ These conversations often lead me to look at problems from angles I hadn’t considered before, and I think that kind of exchange is one of the most exciting parts of doing research.”
