Professor Susan Coppersmith

Professor Coppersmith is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, the Australian Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of New South Wales, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She is also a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences.

In addition to her research achievements, Professor Coppersmith has held numerous leadership positions within the scientific community. She has served as Chair of the Condensed Matter and Materials Research Committee of the U.S. National Research Council, Chair of the Division of Condensed Matter Physics and the Topical Group on Statistical and Nonlinear Physics of the American Physical Society, Chair of the Section on Physics of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Gordon Research Conferences.
