About Fareeha

Fareeha completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in India in 2022 before pursuing a Master’s degree in Physics at The University of Queensland. Her academic journey reflects a growing interest in understanding the fundamental principles that govern the physical world and applying this knowledge to emerging quantum technologies.

For Fareeha, science provides a unified framework for understanding reality across scales. She is particularly drawn to quantum physics because of its ability to explain nature at its most fundamental level and its potential to drive transformative technological advances.

“Looking at the world through a quantum lens feels like looking at the world from the bottom up, as fundamental as one can get. I believe that, especially for fields like quantum computing, which are disruptive in terms of both science and technology, the collaboration between academia and industry is very important.”

Research Interests

As a passionate theoretical researcher, Fareeha is most inspired by the opportunity to think deeply about challenging problems and explore new ideas through mathematics and physics. She is motivated by the close connection between theoretical insight and technological innovation, and particularly enjoys the intellectual freedom that theoretical research offers. A quote that resonates with her comes from mathematician Vladimir Arnold:

“Mathematics is a branch of physics where the experiments are cheap.”
